How To Use The Power Of Persistence

Napoleon Hill, one of the great original self help gurus, devoted a chapter solely to persistence in his landmark book "Think and Grow Rich" simply because he felt it was extremely important. This particular chapter makes reference to persistence as being the sustained effort necessary to induce faith and was regarded by Hill as the eighth step towards becoming rich. However, the importance of persistence is also laid down on page one of this chapter in another sentence. "There may be no heroic connotation to the word "persistence," but the quality is to the character of man what carbon is to steel." Persistence reinforces the temperament of a person so much that he can do whatever it takes to attain his goal or complete the task in hand. There have been several examples of this throughout history. The founder of the vaccine for polio, Dr. Jonas Salk, persisted with his studies even though he had failed 200 times before finding a vaccine which worked. Another example is when Thomas Edison continued battling to create a light bulb even though he had not succeeded on more than 10,000 previous occasions. His persistence was eventually rewarded and every night when the darkness comes, we use his invention in our homes. If you take an interest in reading autobiographies, you will discover that many rich and famous people failed on numerous occasions before be
coming successful. Their persistence permitted them to achieve what they were determined to get. The power of persistence shows that any individual will ultimately reach their goal if they persist long and hard enough and that this is the only characteristic with this power. A slow and persistent trickle of water over the same spot on a rock for a long period of time will eventually wear away the rock and although the stone is harder than the water, with persistence the water will always be victorious, proving that persistence will always win. These four small steps will help you to use persistence regularly. 1. Set a specific goal and maintain it with a very strong longing for fulfillment. 2. Have a clear-cut plan to follow and take constant action on such a plan. 3. Do not pay attention to any unconstructive or off-putting proposals. Also, do not let any negative incidents discourage you from progressing with your actions. 4. Find a mentor who will give you confidence in your accomplishments and who will drive you forward if you slow down. It makes no difference what you are aiming for, as long as you follow these four useful steps you cannot help but be successful in all you do. These steps can be used to improve your wealth, become powerful, receive recognition, fame and freedom of thought turning all your dreams and inspirations into reality.

Your Success Depends On Your Motivation

No matter where life takes us, we all need to be positively motivated in order to succeed. This is particularly true when things are not quite going our way and when we have undertaken business projects that do not seem to work out as we would have expected. It is at this point that fear can move stealthily into our way of thinking and a little irritating voice says that this is not going to work. So, what can be done? Well, for the most part, it is important that you steer clear of negative people. These people can, at times, be your own flesh and blood. However, this is not the time to disclose any doubts and fears that you may have in them. Positive and enthusiastic people should be sought out from your acquaintances, family and friends. Assume the positive and confident outlooks on life that they have. Locate a good motivational book. Return and re-tackle the issues that are holding your scheme back, whilst you are thinking about success. It is very often a case of needing to tweak certain aspects of the operation in order to get it moving. If research has been undertaken by yourself correctly, then there must be a reason as to why things are not going so well. Determination will pay in the long run. If you are yearning to succeed, this will without a doubt provide the inspiration and energy that is required to get you off on the right foot and where you need to go. This is personal motivation in action. Positive results
will be achieved when your energy and desire work together. When things are not going your way, it is easy for you to become down and depressed. It is simple to just give up and give in to fear and misery. However, it is this approach that leads you to less success. Depression and loss of motivation can be increased when communicating with unenthusiastic people. In a sense, we are in actual fact what we deem ourselves to be, and we need to motivate ourselves in order to achieve. In one way, it is more difficult to remain positive since is requires a great deal of energy. However, on the other hand, being negative takes your energy away, whilst being positive will produce energy. Motivation is produced when we remain positive, and results are produced from enthusiastic motivation. Nothing is a lost cause. It is just necessary to undertake thoughtful restructuring in the worst cases, or minor tweaking at best. All that is required to carry this out is the motivation and enthusiasm. Life can be difficult. However it is imperative that you search for the positives in everything, including situations that prove to be difficult. It is important that you enjoy life and mix with positive, energetic people. It is simple for their enthusiasm and motivation to break through the shell of depression that is blocking up your life. Goals need to be developed, followed by you gaining the amount of motivation needed to drive in your life.

Four Painless Steps To Hindrance Solving And Creativity

Flashes of inspiration are fully broadcast and happens in practically all aspects of being life. But different a mathematical pliant, these are commonly very delicate, and cannot eternally be reconstructed by other people. By the way, it is a good idea to put down your feelings in copy, for 90 percent of all good feelings get astray always if they are not immediately jotted down. Also, not every good musing can be damaged immediately. Sometimes, feelings or inspirations are solely fragments of a undivided, which first have to be polished and supplemented using additional pieces. This is anything that poets, playwrights and novelists do, they jot down parts for poems, stories, settings or characters as they arise, chronic to them later to be developed and become a verse, a landscape or a piece of dialogue.

However, for most of us, great answers don’t just emerge all by themselves. One of the most important prerequisites for creative work is to adjourn certain conduct and monotonous functions. The practice that says “this is the way its eternally been done” is the demise knell for inspiration.

One of the most precious methods of creative feelings is brainstorming. often there are four policy to the structure.

One – something and everything can be said.

Two – the more feelings vocal, the better.

Three – No one should deride anyone’s idea.

Four – Any adaptation, improvements or combinations to the feelings offered is encouraged. The cuteness of this method is not to find just the right answer seeing there can be many answers to the harms – but to provoke new feelings that have previously not been musing of.

The most important and most mulish dictate for such a communal division of feelings is – no comment. This would immediately repress the creative method and collective feelings of the group intricate in the brain-storming. New feelings offered requisite not be explained or even defended. They must solely be full down spontaneously and in fast chain then, at a later hike, they can be evaluated by the stuffed party to find out if they are of use or not. Do you find that you are bemused in certain situations? Do you requisite to face up to new feelings? Then brainstorming may be just the right creative structure for you.

Here’s an example to show how precious the method can be while brusque for a zip replacement for celestial suits, NASA designers employed a particularly open method of idea generation. One participant would tool a word or stretch at arbitrary from the dictionary – for example “forest”. During the brainstorming gathering, he imagined walking through a forest using thorns getting bemused on his clothes. For the astronauts, the result was a capture of impulsive which thousands of thorn-like fibres hanger into one another. The comments was named Velcro. nowadays, it is not solely a household name, it is damaged in celestial, in the martial, in workshops –everywhere.

You requisite not have a group of people in order to brainstorm. You can do it on your own. envisage in your sage that you have a group of advisors portray the pros and cons of an idea. recall, you requisite to convert manually that the answer or blend is already bemused someplace in your memory. Take a hike along a coast or a badge to see how features solves its harms, they may yet bargain clues to yours.

If you have ADD, you perhaps have run into the doubtful communications hindrance more than onetime. Your ADD control is just cranking at the trot of illumine, and what may look entirely right to you, may make other people footstep back and go, "Huh?" while you think they get it, they don't and miscommunication like that can argument tons of distress. How do you mutation that?

When you're asking for anything, do you say, "Give me that, desire," and idea to the kitchen defy, which is burdened using all number of gear? Which "that," did you mean? The bread? The spatula? The toaster? You see? It can be any that, and people have no idea which one. But if you say, hand me the fork on the defy, desire, that makes a big difference, providing there is solely one fork on the defy. But being limited regarding gear is so greatly better than vagary. You won't be frustrated because the other qualities doesn't understand, and they won't be questioning what "that" is.

ADD doesn't card us to be great communicators. What we see as explosive forgive might not be so transparent to others, and this can be especially risky at work--at work using a responsibility that you poverty to commit. Making gear entirely forgive before the hand goes off and does what you poverty done will make a charge work because you're both forgive on the idea.

But what if you disuse to do this? What if you have this immense charge due? You have a deadline. So, you ask star to help you to coach a shot to embrace in the charge. But, you don't tell them that you poverty it in Microsoft outshine so that it will cleanly integrate using your forte idea presentation. So, they go off and coach the shot in another spreadsheet that's not compatible. Then, what? eternally ask others to reiterate the method back to you so that you make certainly you're both on the same page.

Anytime you poverty star moreover to do anything for you, you poverty to footstep back and pretend you're brainless. Pretend that you poverty every footstep of the method and commence prose a logic down for making what you poverty done work. When you've elegant, look it over and be certainly it's closely what you want. If you time on the time to do this, and the other qualities doesn't apprehend back the expected fallout, you have solely manually to accuse. Try making a demur map or just write gear out so that you can give it to the other qualities. This will unpick many ADD miscommunication issues.

Most of us learn to contract using ADD along the way, whether we've been diagnosed or not. Sometimes, all it takes is slowing down a little and charming some doubly charge that will pay off in the long run. Try to apprehend that linear-thinking people don't see the big picture like we do. Give others step-by-step systems to pursue when delegating and you'll have an easier life.

Four Good Luck Tips

You can call it good luck, or cause and effect, or whatever you want. But you know that some people have more good things happen in their lives, and more happy surprises. What you may not know is that there are things you can do to be more like them and so be luckier yourself. Here are a few tips to get you started.

Don't Take Advice From Your Fears

Letting fear make decisions is a bad habit that is sure to get in the way of having more luck in your life. Acting from fear also sabotages your self-growth. Did you know that Johnny Carson had stage-fright every night before he went on the air? He stepped out there anyhow, and enjoyed doing the Tonight Show for decades. Fear is just a feeling. Move forward despite it.

Relaxed Goal Setting

Committing yourself to specific goals too soon can backfire. This is because a goal has to be seen in context of all our other goals and values. For example, when I used to write down specific financial targets, I accomplished them, but I made myself miserable doing so. Many people find that they are happier if they take a clear direction, and then let the goals formulate themselves in time. Setting goals and writing them down is a powerful way to make progress, but it's up to you to decide when specific goals are appropriate.

Breath Deep

Take several deep breaths through your nose from time to time. Close your eyes, pay attention to your breathing, and let the tension drain from your muscles while doing this. This is like a mini-meditation.

Mouth-breathing expands your chest, but if you breath through your nose you'll notice how your abdomen extends. You see, nose-breathing causes the diaphragm to pull air to the bottom of your lungs. This delivers a good dose of oxygen into your bloodstream and brain. It also tends to relax you. Relaxed and thinking better - that's a recipe for good luck.

Forget The Paranormal Explanations

Many people are looking for paranormal explanations for luck, and for related phenomena like intuition and creativity. But why? There are good psychological explanations for why some people are luckier than others that have nothing to do with psychic abilities. There are exercises that have been shown to improve one's luck whether or not we have a decent explanation yet.

Why do people need an appeal to the paranormal? Perhaps part of the reason is that if psychic powers could bring you luck, it would be easier than making changes in how you think and act. There is nothing wrong with looking for an easier way - as long as the search does not become an excuse for not taking the steps that are proven to work.

In Richard Wiseman's ten-year study of lucky people, he found definite differences between lucky and unlucky people. What he didn't find, however, was any indication of anything paranormal. He says, "I've found plenty of evidence of unscientific approaches to data, but have never come across a paranormal experiment that can be replicated."

For example, he found that people described by themselves and others as lucky were not any more likely to win the lottery. No surprise there - a lottery is random chance. On the other hand, people who are considered lucky can win more often in business or love or even artistic endeavors, and without paranormal powers. They simply think and act in ways that promote a better outcome - they apply principles of good luck.

A Simple Meditation For Beginners

A meditation for beginners doesn't have to be difficult. In fact it can be as simple as closing your eyes and taking a few deep breaths.

Now, you may have read that meditation is for relaxation. Others will say that relaxing is just an "extra" benefit, and that it is meant to make you more self aware, or give you greater peace of mind. Some "gurus" will even tell you that if you try to get anything from your meditation, you are approaching it wrong. Now that's a bit confusing, isn't it?

Then there are the proponents of the various practices. You have to sit in the classic position, they might say. You need to focus on a though or image or object. Others will say you have to clear your mind of any focus or thought. It's all just more confusion for a beginner investigating this.

Perhaps the truth is that there is something useful in all the different approaches. We could see a particular form of meditation as just a vehicle, which can relax you or perhaps enlighten you, like a car, which can take you to get groceries or to a dream vacation spot. And just as you can go places not only in a car, but using a plane, bicycle or on a horse, you can get where you're going with various forms of meditation.

In other words, don't worry about all the confusion. Just start with any meditation for beginners. Here is one you can try right now.

Simple and Short Meditation

1. Stand, sit or lay down (whichever is comfortable for you).

2. Close your eyes.

3. Allow the tension to drain from your body as much as possible.

4. Breath deeply through your nose, allowing your chest and abdomen to expand fully.

5. Pay attention to your breath, and when any though intrudes (they will), just guide your attention back to your breath again and again.

6. Continue this for five minutes or more.

This should relax you and relieve stress. You might even notice that things look different when you open your eyes - a bit more real or clear. If this intrigues you, going further with your practice is not a bad idea. And if the process is difficult for some reason, you might even want to use a good meditation CD with brainwave entrainment technology. Just put on the headphones and listen. That makes meditation for beginners as easy as it gets.

How to be Liked More

It’s reasonable to say that most people actually want to be liked, and enjoy it when people hold them in high regard!

Often when we go about day to day activities, we’re our own worst enemy when it comes to how other people perceive us. A lot of the time the desire to be liked or wanted comes second to our established character traits and idiosyncrasies - the very things that turn other people away!

So here are 5 quick beginner tips on improving your likeability!

1. Stop talking about yourself so much - people don’t always want to hear about you! I know, this one sounds pretty obvious, but you would be amazed at the amount of people who talk non-stop about themselves. Nothing is more of a turn off than sitting in a staff room with one loud skwarker talking about her hair, her money, her daughter’s dance recital, her sore throat…

2. Look into people’s eyes and smile - have you ever been at a dinner party, where you’re having an ‘ice-break’ conversation with someone? You know, “so…. what do you do?” etc. As you’re telling the person about how you work for Bank of England, you notice their gaze is on something else in the room. This sends out a big signal called “I could really care less about what you are saying, who else can I talk to instead of you?”

3. Mimic the person’s facial expressions - this can help establish a rapport with the person. If they look upset, don’t start smiling! Lean your head to the left slightly if that’s what they are doing. You’ll find you establish a greater connection with the person & improve your likeability.

4. Develop really good listening habits - blurting something out before thinking about it has caused so many problems for people! Sometimes part of being a good listener means thinking about what you’ve heard before you speak. If you want to be liked more, really listen to what people are saying to you. Be slow to respond, and show that you’ve heard what they said by reiterating things they have said.

5. Give compliments where they are due - some people find this hard to do. Just as it takes strength of character and practise to be able to say “I’m sorry” when it’s due, you also should make a deliberate effort to give people praise and thanks where it is due. This can be done in a variety of ways - send and email, send some flowers, tell a third party about someone while the person is listening.

Improving your likeability and character is not an overnight thing. But, you can start today to make some changes! Start with these 5 tips, and make a deliberate effort to be someone people like to have around!

Awakening To Abundance

The whole of creation is filled with abundance and we as part of that creation are formed from this abundance. When we are born our sole purpose is to radiate abundance and as we grow our relationships and our work enable us to fulfil this. The idea that we can create abundance is like saying we create breathing, a bodily function which happens naturally, abundance flows from us easily and effortlessly as breathing every second of our lives without us having to wish or create it. Abundance is a state of being also known as our authentic self and it is infinitely more than a thought or an affirmation. Among its qualities are love, joy, peace, creativity and power, all unconditional and in unlimited supply.

The source of abundance is the source of all things seen and unseen and has many names, God, Creator, Great Spirit, Allah, Universal energy, the list goes on and the name changes depending upon each individuals belief system. Our link to the source is through our authentic self and at the moment of our birth we are a little bundle of abundance operating at our maximum level, which is unlimited potential. This is our starting point in life, a state of completeness knowing that everything we will ever need is within us every moment of our lives. Our authentic self is source actualized in us and through us, allowing us to live our life knowing that we are connected to and a part of everything that exists everywhere, we are never alone.

In order for all this to operate to our advantage the universe has a state of the art, top of the range piece of magic called the Law of Attraction. The way it works is simple, the law states that whatever we radiate out from us by our thoughts and emotions both conscious and unconscious, the universe will give back to us. This is an unlimited energy source providing enough for every man, woman and child on this planet, enabling us to live our lives without struggle and hardship. If we spent all of our life living to our maximum potential knowing the source of our abundance is within us and emitting that constantly, then we would want for nothing, indeed the word "want" would lose its meaning in this context.

Our authentic self would be evident by the qualities which define it, and the universe for its part would constantly send us more of all these wonderful things to allow us to live easily and effortlessly, enjoying also the by-products of abundance which are good health, wealth, happiness, indeed anything that keeps us in the flow of the cycle of abundance which is meant to happen automatically. The whole of creation is abundant by its very nature, and our birthright is to experience abundance as naturally as breathing. Then why is it the only thing that seems to come naturally and easy to us is breathing, and the abundance that is meant to be ours is either non-existent or in very short supply.

As we look at our own life and also the lives of others around us it is apparent that this picture of abundance as painted here is somewhat incomplete, and even seems like the world as we know it is operating on a different principle altogether. The Law of Attraction however is very precise and whatever we give out will be sent back to us, including negativity. The vast majority of us have grown up without being told how powerful we really are, and the idea that we create our own life just by what we think and feel seems ridiculous in the extreme. Over a very long period of time we have been told that in order to be a complete person we have to look outside ourselves, constantly searching for that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

How is it possible that we have been turned around so completely from knowing we have the ability within us to control our own life and destiny, to being in a position where we are taught every step of our life to give our power away to someone else? As we grow every thought and feeling that leads us away from the idea of our own divinity and powerfulness creates a block to the flow of abundance within us, until a point is reached where the vast majority of our thoughts and feelings are rooted in fear and negativity which is reflected in our world as we see it. Negative thoughts create self doubt which leads to low or no self esteem and the emotions which are generated we then try to hide which creates our shadow, our unlikable self.

When we first hear about the Law of Attraction it can appear to be everything we ever dreamed if our life seems to be a constant struggle, and indeed it is a wonderful tool if we have the correct mindset when using it. Unfortunately as with many things it can be abused both intentionally and unintentionally with the result of keeping us locked in our fear. Trying to use the universe as our own personal warehouse just to make us feel good and have a nice life without first clearing the blocks within us to our flow of abundance, can only bring limited if any success. As doing it that way is still keeping us looking outside ourselves for someone or something to fill the void we feel is missing within us. So what do we have to do to prepare the way for our abundance to flow?

Law of Attraction Step-By-Step Guide

If you haven't seen The Secret yet, where have you been? It's the new sensation that has taken over the world!
Now that that is done, let me tell you something. You don't have to watch The Secret. It is way too much Hollywood and not nearly enough practical advice that you can immediately start using. Don't get me wrong, The Secret was a fantastic movie and I would still recommend you watch it just to get a feel for the power that it preaches, namely the law of attraction, but I have found the ultimate law of attraction product for you. It truly is the secret behind The Secret.
Manifest A Miracle is the one you are looking for. This is one of those books that makes you want to get up and DO IT, just because of what it promises. The law of attraction is explained in simple language with a clear step-by-step system that will have you attracting wealth, love and health in no time.
Even though correct in principle, I think The Secret really blew the law of attraction out of proportion. Then again, if you have a giant production budget I guess you can do that. Let me just tell you that the law of attraction is as proven and scientific as gravity. It is about conditioning your subconscious mind to attract and make you aware of opportunities in your life. If you want to attract a specific car and you do the exercises in Manifest A Miracle, it will be a matter of a day or two before you start noticing that specific car all around you with plenty of deals appearing as if it is a miracle.
I have used the principles as taught in Manifest A Miracle countless times. I wouldn't have done so if it didn't work. It really gets freaky sometimes and I love every second of it.
How to see if it is starting to work: Things that you tried to manifest will start appearing in your life. In the beginning you will have a LOT these moments: "Wow! That is such a huge coincidence!" No, there are no coincidences; it was YOU using the law of attraction to manifest that thing in your life. You can prove this to yourself by immediately setting a new goal and applying everything you learned to it. After a while the "coincidences" will really start piling up and hopefully by this time you will be open-minded enough to realize there's something more going on here.
The law of attraction isn't a new discovery, it has only been given a name in recent years. The richest of people from hundreds of years ago was constantly applying it back then, as are people today. There is simply no better way to attract opportunities to provide you with more money, love, health and happiness than you will ever need and few books will ever be able to explain the law of attraction better than Manifest A Miracle. Check it out here!

How Learning From New Cutting Edge Success Programs Will Ensure Your Success

There are huge numbers of success programs online and in the shops that claim they can change your life forever but how many actually work? Unfortunately not many do.

What Is The Reason Why These Success Programs Fail To Deliver?

The failure is very rarely the information supplied. There are literally hundreds of superior success programs offered in written format by highly experienced authors. If the person who had read the book and acted on the advice given then they would have achieved outstanding success. Books that contain success programs can be best sellers so why is there such a poor success record for the majority of the readers?

Some Don't Read - Most Don't Take Action!

Studies show that over 80% of people that obtain success programs in written form will not get to the end of the book. The second alarming fact is that over 90% of readers that complete the reading of book format success programs will not act on the advice given. So how are success programs best presented?

Success Programs In Audio Format Are The Best

These days people have less and less time on their hands but still everybody wants to be successful. It is commonly understood by those that want to be successful that learning from those who have done it will give them the best chance. But written success programs containing hundreds of pages are won't appeal to most and too time consuming. But listening to audio success programs is a very convenient and effective way to absorb the material.

Audio Success Programs Are Great But………

Almost everybody will listen to all of their audio success programs but there is one big problem – most of them don’t perform the recommended actions. Many take comfort from continued listening instead of taking action. Why is this so? Well their success is their own responsibility so if they don’t take action they don't have anybody to answer to. Nobody is there to watch them, ensure they have fully absorbed it and give crucial assistance to them if they are stuck (a common symptom of not taking action). What is the answer to this?

A Few New Success Programs Are Addressing This Problem

Smart success coaches have changed their approach and a handful of success programs have been launched with built in follow up and support systems at a completely reasonable price. The results from these success programs are very encouraging. People have reported life changing results from these success programs because they have someone watching over them.

Most people can’t afford thousands of dollars to attend a success seminar even though this could have life changing consequences for them. Thanks to the proliferation of the Internet, success programs with support and follow up systems are a much cheaper and effective option and are already having a major impact. You owe it to yourself to check them out.

The Magic Of High Self Esteem

The term, Self Esteem, is tossed around in everyday conversation but most people do not know the exact meaning of it. Most people think that self esteem is the other name for self confidence. Of course, self confidence is included in the definition of self esteem but self esteem covers much more than self confidence. True magic happens once you understand self esteem and learn how to have higher self esteem than you now have.

You may be surprised to know that there are millions of people that are at the height of their self confidence but have very poor self esteem. In fact, most of the human race fall into this category. The most common examples are movie actors, comedians, and singers who excel when performing and who are extremely insecure out of the public eye.

So what is self esteem, exactly? Self esteem is what we think and say about ourselves to ourselves.

If you trash talk yourself, you have to stop. You wouldn't verbally beat up a friend, so don't do it to yourself either. Take out a sheet of paper and make a list of all the bad things you think and say about yourself. Now make another list of positive things you could say instead. Whenever you catch yourself thinking or saying something negative, immediately stop and counter it with something positive. This will take some practice, but you will eventually be able to stop all the trash talk and think and feel much better about yourself.

Did you know that self esteem and health are inextricably linked? By keeping healthy, you will feel motivated to identify and achieve your life goals, which leads to higher self esteem. In turn, having high self esteem means that you value yourself enough to want to look after your health!

In adolescents, even the most confident of adolescents can grow up to experience low self esteem and to feel unworthy. Adult life can be tough and it can sometimes feel like "survival of the fittest" so adolescents act out as a defense mechanism to cover low self esteem.

One of the easiest steps to improve self esteem is to push yourself to do "difficult" things.

This breeds a sense of pride.

Pride in yourself and your accomplishments will give you a higher opinion of yourself (the esteem you have for yourself). By using your willpower to actually do some of these things, your self esteem will grow and along with it your perception of your own abilities. This in turn will create a momentum in your life where success breeds more success.

Never compare yourself with others. Every single person on the Earth has one attribute or another that you do not have. You have attributes that they do not have.

Comparisons are the easiest way to start feeling inferior and losing most of your self esteem. Instead, think about yourself in terms of your achievements. This will help you build or rebuild your self-confidence and it will make you feel better when dealing with your peer group at the same time. The result is self esteem magic in action.

The greater your self confidence, the greater your self esteem.

Focus on your achievements. If you take the time to think about it, you will realize that you have achieved many things in your life. It doesn't matter what these achievements are. It only matters that they have been recognized by at least one other person. We all have such achievements. List them and remember what it meant to you to have them recognized by someone else.

It doesn't matter what you think about your overall life at present. If you are honest with yourself you will make a long list of positive things you have done and that list will make you feel better about yourself. Every small thing you are proud of should be added to your list. The fact that you are focusing on positives will also help you to increase your level of self esteem.

One of the most important things you should be aware of is the erroneous belief that you need to be different from how you are in order to be loved. This idea causes a great deal of misery. Unless you are happy within, you'll never be truly satisfied with what you do. Liking yourself unconditionally is the key to happiness. Yes, you need to like yourself as you are and grow from there.

With improved self-esteem, your relationships with others will improve as well.

You don't have to be perfect because even the most loved person in the world make’s mistakes! You don't even have to do your best. You don't have to prove anything. You're all right because you're all right, and lovable exactly as you are.

I'm in your corner cheering you on!

What's Your Addiction?

We usually think of drug or alcohol addicts when we think of addictions but you may be surprised on how much broader addictions are.

Firstly the definition of an addiction is “anything that compels you, in actions or thoughts, and you don’t feel you have control over it.” With this definition, it means that thoughts and feelings can be addiction as well!

If you can go with this for a moment, you see that all addictions are a reflection of a mental state, they’re either visible or non-visible. The visible addictions cover things like food, sex, work, exercise, money and drugs. Non-visible addictions cover things like drama, worry, grief, attention and approval

The key behind these addictions, is that there’s always a perceived survival element that the mind creates. For example if you grew up in family where you derived love through eating, you may now find yourself overweight because it became an addiction to feel love in this way and therefore to survive (the mind is formed from childhood and so these perceptions of survival are instilled at that point).

We can usually tell when someone has a visible addiction (although not necessarily within ourselves), although the non-visible ones that are a bit tricky (and even more so for ourselves).

So lets look at some examples of the non-visible ones:
1. Drama: lets say that as a child you found yourself in situations where you felt discounted and became a victim of situations and now as an adult, you still carry the victim feelings. These feelings give rise to situations in daily life that are seemingly beyond your control like getting delayed on your way to work because of a car accident that held up the traffic and as a result you miss your morning meeting with the boss. This has you feel angry, frustrated or helpless and you vent with a colleague through “complaining”. The drama that seemed to have nothing to do with you, now gives you the opportunity to be justified in complaining and this makes you right and the situation wrong and this actually feels good. It feels good because we feel power in being right and therein lies the addiction, to the power that’s underneath the situation (and of course the ego gets to survive in this also).
2. Grief: lets say that as a child, you felt that nothing you did was ever good enough for your parents and now as an adult, you still carry the feelings of worthlessness in not being good enough. These feelings may lead to a situation with your partner, where they come along and see you working on something and say, “Oh, why don’t you do it this way…” This triggers the old feelings of not being good enough and boom, you react by snapping back, saying something like “leave me alone, keep your comments to yourself, get lost, haven’t you got anything better to do, etc”. The reaction is usually out of proportion to the comment and there’s generally no conscious thought, simply an explosive reaction based on a need to protect yourself. The reaction arises from a place of power within you and this deep power is what feels good at a deeper level, it doesn’t matter what’s happening on the surface, the addiction again is to the power (and again your ego gets to survive).
3. Worry: lets say that as a child you were constantly told to be careful that this or that might happen and out of that you created a belief system that the world was unsafe and now as an adult, you still carry feelings of fear or concern for how things will turn out if you take or don’t take a certain action. These feelings may lead to a situation where you meet a friend that is excited about a new business proposition and offers you an opportunity to enter it. You then do one of two things, either you agree out of fear of missing out (without doing your due diligence) and then spend a heap of time worrying about whether it was the right thing to do or, you are paralysed through analysis paralysis and don’t make a decision out of fear as you worry about all the possible bad outcomes that may eventuate. Either way the worrying puts you in touch with feelings from childhood and this has you feel a level of comfort and control because the worry pretends to be important and this again has you feel a power within you and thus the addiction is again to power so that the ego survives.
4. Attention and Approval: lets say that as a child you felt that you were not given the love you needed and now as an adult, you still carry the feelings of being unlovable. This may lead to taking actions out of a hope that somehow others give you the love you need to fill the void and take care of the pain you experienced as a child. An example would be, you buy a gift for a friend and when you give it to them they don’t express their appreciation the way you’d hoped and this leaves you feeling resentful, hurt or angry, your action of giving was done with an expectation of a certain response or reaction so that you could get the attention or approval and thereby feel the love. When this doesn’t happen, it puts you in touch with the pain from childhood and the resentfulness, hurt or anger again puts you in touch with your power and so again the addiction is to this sense of power that is derived in such a way that looks like anything but power.

Essentially, each one of us is born into this world as light within the form of a baby, with limitless potential at our disposal. As we grow layers of limitations are placed over that light until the light is almost completely obscured as we identify with an ego. The effect is that we lose sight of the light (the Truth of who we are) and accept that this body and these circumstances are who we are. It’s not and it takes great power to create the illusion that shows us as anything other than the light.

And so, what I’m saying here is that whether we’re aware of it or not, we already have a knowing that we are extremely powerful underneath it all. We simply haven’t become masters of that power yet, so we unconsciously use what we’ve learned from a very young age to access it and we did that through what we consider to be negative or unpleasant circumstances that take on addictive qualities on the surface, i.e. things we don’t have control over and are compelled to do. The irony or paradox is that it’s these very situations that help us peel away the layers of limitation until we do allow the light to shine through.

In the next article I’ll discuss how to be free from addictions.

The Babe Ruth Self Esteem Formula

Would you like to never ever feel insecure again? Everybody feels insecure in certain situations, but the difference is that the confident person always maintains the feeling of self worth and love they have for themselves, even when they are feeling normal insecurity. This attitude is true self esteem magic and it's something that can be learned.

Courage is your primary ingredient towards developing high self esteem.

Taking a chance on yourself takes some courage but, look at it this way, what is there to lose? The difference between winners and everyone else is that winners go for whatever they desire, even when they fear failure. They have the courage to take a risk.

Let me illustrate with a baseball analogy. It's a fact that "Babe" Ruth, who held the home-run record in baseball for decades, still holds the record for most strike-outs! The "Babe" swung at almost any pitch that even remotely looked as one he could hit. He was not afraid to strike-out because he knew that home-runs win games. He is remembered for the home-run record not his strike-out record and that made him a winner for himself and the New York Yankees.

Do you realize that you have already had many turns at bat? You have already set your own personal home-run and strike-out records!

If you have low self esteem, you probably keep reflecting on the things you don't like about yourself, your strike-outs, but if you start counting your home-runs, you just might be surprised.

What do I mean by home runs?

What do your friends like about you? These are you home-runs!

Have you ever asked yourself that? Or even better, have you ever asked them? When you have listed all the things you like about yourself and the things your friends like about you, a magical thing begins to happen. Your home-runs take on a power to make you feel good about yourself. The negative things, your strike-outs, seem smaller and less harmful. This is self esteem magic in action.

An important thing you should guard against is the erroneous belief that you need to be different from how you are right now in order to be accepted. This idea causes a great deal of misery. Unless you like yourself right now, you will never be truly satisfied with what you accomplish in the future.

Have you ever seen photos or films of Babe Ruth? He was not a handsome guy. He had a pug nose and pot belly but he had women chasing him because he projected high self esteem based on his home-runs and that made him attractive. He liked himself unconditionally.

Liking yourself unconditionally is the key to happiness and success. Yes, you need to "love" yourself unconditionally but you must first "like" yourself as you are and grow from there into loving yourself.

With improved self-esteem, your relationships will blossom as well. You do not have to be perfect because even the most loved person in the world has their share of strike-outs! You do not even have to do your best all the time. You can have your share of strike-outs and not feel badly about it. Look, you do not have to prove anything to anyone. You are all right because you are all right, and lovable exactly as you are.

Concentrate on simple things that you can change right now that will make you feel better about yourself right now! Think of these as base hits - singles, doubles, triples.

There are changes you can make right now that may get you some base hits, changes in your life and how you live it.

Ask yourself: Are you happy in your job? Is there something else you would rather do for a living? Change it!

What about your relationships and your social life? If you would like to be more assertive for example, then start working on that immediately.

Whatever you feel you need to change then go ahead and do it. Get a few base hits before your go for the homers!

To improve self esteem, make a list of positive comments about yourself that are based upon your positive attributes. Leave out any negatives. It does not matter if they are positive physical attributes that you like about yourself or if they are talents you have. Challenge yourself to add one positive comment about yourself every day. Look for opportunities to affirm yourself positively. Look for base hits.

Once you accept yourself and who you are each day, the real magic begins to happen inside you.

Look, there are many things about your personality and character and your life that you may never be able to change. Do not allow those to hold you back. Not everyone can pitch a no-hitter. Some people play short-stop, some play center-field, but anyone can get some base hits and homers along the way, even you! Learn to accept those things that are beyond changing and understand that you can still be happy and feel good about yourself despite those things.

Think about what you would like to accomplish, then make a plan for how to do it. Stick with your plan and keep track of your progress. If you realize that you're unhappy with something about yourself that you can change, then start today. If it's something you can't change (like your height), then start to work toward loving yourself the way you are.

Your daily efforts should be focused on turning at least one strike-out into a base hit, that is, turning a negative into a positive. Do that and watch the magic happen. Watch your home-runs start to add up!

I'm cheering from the dug out for you!

Make Sure Dreams Are Your Servant, and Not Your Master

In effective goal setting, using dreams to establish ideal outcomes is a critical step in creating the vision and purpose that become the building block for goals. When used that way, dreams are your servant.

But when the word dreams is mentioned, many people are turned off - to them dreams are a waste of time - a trip into fantasy. They feel dreams are not for the real world. They see dreams as taking away from action and accomplishment.

The line between dreams as the servant and dreams as the master is a thin one. Rudyard Kipling, in his masterpiece poem "IF " wrote a verse that says "If you can dream, but not let dreams become your master...." Going even further, Cormac McCarthy, in his novel, "The Road" says: "When your dreams are of some world that never was or of some world that never will be and you are happy again, then you will have given up."

You can think of dreams as a resource, a servant - a special place where you go to create thoughts that can serve as the first step to accomplishment. Or they can become your master - taking you to that soft, fuzzy place where you can escape from reality and think great thoughts that have a really low probability of ever happening. For most people, dreams are both a servant and a master.

How do you know if your dreams represent real possibilities, or are a place to escape from reality - to fantasyland? Do your dreams replace action - or do they create action and persistence to get through the tough times? The answer to those questions isn't always so clear cut - sometimes our mind plays tricks on us.

Take the Lottery dream as an example. A New York Times article states that the dream of winning stimulates the same brain circuits as actual winning does. The article goes on to state that " in brain imaging studies of drug users, as well as healthy adults placing bets, neuroscientists have found that the prospect of reward activates the same circuits in the brain that the payoffs themselves do." It's easy to keep the Lottery dream alive - just buy a ticket and keep those brain circuits buzzing. And at odds of 147,000,000 to 1 for each drawing of the Powerball Lottery, you may be a winner. Nothing wrong with taking that chance. At least not until the dream of winning the Lottery replaces dreams that have the potential for real action and accomplishment.

Realize that your conscious mind can only think about one thing at a time. Dreaming of never were's and never will be's uses up conscious thought at the same rate that thoughts of opportunities and accomplishments do. It's when those never was, never will be dreams take up space better devoted to dreams of real world possibilities that dreams become a problem - when they become the master of time and energy.

Every minute spent on those kinds of low probability, low commitment, low risk, low investment dreams takes away from the time available to dream about real possibilities, solutions, tactics and strategies and rewards for accomplishment. Dreams that are the master do nothing to increase personal feelings of worth and ability - they do the opposite. By placing value on chance - as in the Lottery dream case - rather than personal accomplishment - they diminish beliefs of personal ability. And they are sneaky - often they become a habit of thought that just kind of happens - and they create a view of the world that isn't at all accurate.

How to be sure your dreams are your servant - part of your real world - and not let them become your master?

Ask yourself these five questions.

1 - Do you find yourself thinking about the past - and how it could have been, should have been, or would have been different?

2 - Do your dreams take you away from the probable and the possible?

3 - Do you find yourself dreaming about a future that has no relationship to your life so far?

4 - Do you dream about being someone other than yourself ?

5 - Do your dreams require your "willful suspension of disbelief" ?

If you answered Yes to the questions, realize that dreams, at least part of the time, have become your master. And those dreams that are your masters take away from achieving success in the real world.

Choose to examine your thoughts and apply the five questions. It's tough - particularly if dreams have been the master for some time. Be convinced that the conscious examination of dreams can and will lead to a more effective, successful life.

Burn Out Is Bad For You!

Burn Out! It sucks, but it happens to all of us at some time. I admit, burn out doesn't happen to me that often, but I am finding just lately, that I have bitten off a bit more than I can chew!

So what do you do when you find yourself suffering from burn out? or that you're stressed out and you feel like you just can't do it anymore?

Well, these handy hints have helped me through the bad times, in particular the bad time Im facing right now! Read on to find some ways to deal with burn out.

Well, I think you have to get away from your work. Its usually work that is the instigator in burn out! Heaps of people try to work through it, but that doesn't work for me - it just makes the problem worse. When my mind wants to go on strike, I have no choice but to give it a rest.

I used to be an entertainer! One thing I really enjoy is singing. I don't know what your interests are, but there's got to be something you do for relaxation. So - Just do it! You really need to get away from work if you possibly can. Act like work doesn't exist for a while! (lucky I have my own decked out music room!)

Secondly, after you have had a bit of a relax and you start stressing because you should get back to work, just sit down and write up a list. Make it really basic and simple to start. If you are suffering burn out because you've been too hard at work, make a list that will be easy to achieve.

I have been making my lists pretty miniscule lately, very easy and haven't bothered with much else. This is good for two reasons. The first good thing is that at least I've accomplished something during my day and the second is that I dont put any pressure on myself, because although 2-3 things is about 1/20 of what I would normally do, doing something is definately better than nothing!

Soon, as you start getting back into the swing of things, you can increase your regular work load back to a sensible amount to avoid future burn out! If you find that doing more increases your level of stress and possible future burnout, then don't go there! Don't go beyond your limit again.

You need to learn to recognize your trigger switch! Learn to cut yourself off. This can be so terribly hard for me, but sometimes I just have to stop! It is especially hard when you are starting a new venture or a new job, but think about how you got to how you now feel? probably doing exactly these things!

Don't get me wrong, it's a tough act to perform! But with time and experience, you'll get good at it. I hope I get better at it too!

You see, Im a bit of a workaholic! and....My stress and consequent burnout has hit epic proportions of late. I was having a really hard time relaxing - so I started a new project! I have found this to be a great idea and instead of feeling burn out, I now feel re-invigorated! My major stress lately promoted me to develop another website! So........I have done something different with my current burn out, and started developing a stress relief course to help myself and others! Thats pretty logical - dont you think?

Whatever you do - do something about how you feel, or it will only get worse! I hope these tips on dealing with burn out help you too!

How To Find Stability In A Crisis At Work

In times of great change and uncertainty we look, sometimes anxiously, for some stability: a reference point, something fixed on the chart of experience. We want to orientate ourselves, to know where we are. Then we have an opportunity to navigate to where we want to be.

If we look for a symbol of stability, we might choose a mature oak tree: strong, enduring and massive. This tree has stood solid and unmoving for two or three hundred years. All through the turbulence of human history, war and peace, it has passed the seasons in its natural cycle.

The stability and longevity of the oak is only possible because of its roots. They collect essential water and minerals from the soil and, critically, they are the structural anchor for the tree. When winter gales come it is the strength of the roots that determines whether the tree stands or falls.

In our own human experience, what are our roots? What keeps us anchored when we are buffeted by change?

Our roots are the things we hold most dear. People refer to these as their values. Although we are not always consciously aware of our values, we can tease them out with questions like:

What is important to you? What do you really care about? What can't you live with? What can't you live without? What makes you angry - what value does this violate?

As you become aware of your values, they act as an anchor of stability. You can orientate yourself around them. So when you have a decision to make you can see which choice is going to honour your values and which choice takes you further away.

There is one another factor to take into account. Some of our values are more important to us than others. We hold them in a kind of hierarchy. When you are making decisions and taking action in a changing world, it is very useful to know your top values.

You can find your hierarchy of values by following the process below (this will appeal particularly to those of you who enjoy puzzles and sudoku!)

1. Write down your values as a simple list.

2. Number your values from the top of the list starting at 1.

3. Now go to the bottom of your list (for illustration purposes, let's suppose you have 10 values)

4. If you are motivated to do something because of value #9, would contravening value #10 stop you? If the answer is 'Yes', swap values #9 and #10

5. If you are motivated to do something because of value #8, would contravening value #9 stop you? If the answer is 'Yes', swap values #8 and #9

6. If you are motivated to do something because of value #7, would contravening value #8 stop you? If the answer is 'Yes', swap values #7 and #8

7. Continue moving up the list value by value in the same manner until you get to the top

8. Now repeat steps 4 to 7 until you get 'No' answers all the way up

9. Your values are now listed in descending order of importance to you

What does all this mean in the real world?

It means that when change is coming thick and fast, we can return to our 'roots'. We have access to a stable reference point.

By taking actions that honour our most important values, we keep ourselves in the picture. Instead of the storm overwhelming us and violating what we know is important, we have a safety harness that connects us to what really matters.

Law of Attraction - Science Behind the Belief

by TIM WHISTON

The law of attraction is more than just thinking positively and hoping for the best. In fact there is concrete science behind your innate ability to attract everything you desire. This article will explain the scientific nuts and bolts behind the law of attraction.

If you're like many people you love the idea of being able to use the law of attraction to manifest the things you want in life. But you may have a problem letting go and fully believing this will work for you because it's contrary to what the mainstream education and media systems call reality.

For the next couple of minutes forget about what the average person considers realistic. After all, how many "average" people do you know who are really happy with their lives? The fact is most people are not scientists, and therefore it's not fair to assume the status quo reality has anything to do with scientific knowledge.

It's sad but true: Most people are not comfortable believing they can really have everything they want in life. They'd rather play it safe and stick with the familiar ground of disappointment and struggle.

The law of attraction is real. It's every bit as real as gravity. In fact gravity is one example of the concept of attraction in action.

Bodies in our solar system maintain their orbits because the magnetic pull of the sun. You and I are able to remain rooted on the earth because we are attracted to it by gravitational forces.

If you boil these forces and laws down you'll see they are not unlike the laws behind attraction and manifestation. This takes a bit of expansive and even abstract thinking, but it's quite logical if you take the time to ponder it.

Now let's have a look at a few specific scientific theories/studies that support the existence of the law of attraction.

First of all you should be aware of the belief many scientists hold that time is not linear as we perceive it. In other words, many theories exist that time does not move from point A to point B the way we experience it; in fact time does not really exist at all as a natural law.

Time is a construct. It's a phenomenon we as humans agree on as a way of managing our lives and the world around us. The truth is everything that could happen is happening right now, and our conscious minds identify and separate these events into different moments and possibilities.

In simpler terms, endless possibilities are actually taking place right now in an unlimited number of dimensions, or universes. And the human mind is consciously aware of only one of these realities at a time, thus resulting in the illusion of time progressing moment to moment.

Hugh Everett was among the first researchers to popularize this idea through the Relative State Formulation. Later Bryce Seligman DeWitt renamed this formulation the Many-Worlds-Theory.

Some people also call this belief in infinite dimensions or realities the Multiple Worlds Theory. Physicist John Wheeler, among many others, suggests that each of us chooses the reality or universe to observe from moment to moment, thereby creating our own distinct reality.

Think about this for a moment. Right now, as you read this article, you are observing/occupying a specific "timeline" or dimension; you have a job, a home, friends, hobbies, etc. But there could also exist simultaneously another dimension or reality where you are a multi-millionaire, or one where you have your ideal body, or one where you live happily with your dream mate.

One way to think of the law of attraction is to consider it the act of choosing which reality to observe. By way of focused intention you attract to you the exact reality you prefer to inhabit.

Another great theory to help explain the law of attraction is the Wheeler-Feynman Absorber Theory, which was originally designed to explain the actions of charged particles, such as photons. Consider this model:

You have a desire, thus emitting specific particles. This makes sense as everything in the universe is made up of energetic particles, including thought waves.

As the particles of your thought/desire leave the source (you), they send an offer wave forward in time to the detectors, or possibilities. When this offer wave, made up of your intentions, reaches the target detector, or possibility, the detector responds with an echo wave.

These two waves (offer and echo) can interact in a number of ways. They can cancel one another out, build on one another, or intersect in other ways within an interference pattern.

This is all taken from a model using particles and waves. But since your thoughts are measurable energy, i.e. particles and/or waves depending on the moment of observation, the theory is totally applicable to you intending or attracting one of many possibilities to yourself by sending an offer wave out to multiple detectors or realities.

You are essentially vibrating a specific intention, or offer wave, and then choosing which detector, or result/reality, to observe through your thoughts and actions.

So if you've sent an offer wave in the form of an intention to create more money, and your thoughts and actions are focused on creating this reality, you will attract the new result you want. Conversely if you've sent the offer wave of creating more money but your thoughts and actions are fretting your current lack and complaining about what you don't have you'll end up canceling out your initial intention.

This article really just scratches the surface of the science behind the law of attraction. But as you can see here the dynamics at play are very real.

And in most cases the reasons for not believing in your ability to attract a chosen reality are pretty far from scientific. Let's face it: just saying "that's not possible" really doesn't measure up to the evidence that supports the law of attraction.

How You Can Overcome Your Fear of Crowds

A fear of crowds can be awkward to deal with.

Whilst you can be sure that certain places will almost always attract a crowd (big sports matches, crowded commuter routes, that kind of thing), there are other times when a crowd can appear as if from nowhere. It's at times like that where your fear of crowds can really come into its own and disrupt your way of life.

The problem is that our brain learns pretty fast when it wants to. Especially when irrational fears are concerned. And despite what you may think, a fear of crowds isn't the most rational thing to possess. Most crowds are harmless most of the time.

But try telling that to your brain!

Chances are the flight part of your inbuilt "fight or flight" response mechanism has reared its ugly head before you get a chance to reason with it.

So just exactly how do you go about overcoming your fear of crowds?

If your fear is a mild one, it could be that you simply need to mix with small crowds and gradually adjust by gradually mixing with larger and larger crowds. Sometimes taking an understanding friend along with you can be idea - they're with you as a comfort and can help you if your fear suddenly starts to become overwhelming.

But what do you need to do if your fear is bigger than that?

If your fear is holding you back, you have three options:

* Run away from it - move to somewhere rural and isolated for instance.

* Live with it and avoid crowds as much as possible whilst still having a life.

* Face your fear and deal with it.

When it comes down to it, fear is actually pretty cowardly. So the third option (facing your fear of crowds) isn't actually as scary as it may seem.

Think back to the last time you got trapped in a crowd. Sure, it may not have been a pleasant experience for you. But after all the worry and cold sweats, think back. Did you come out of the event unscathed?

Assuming you did come out of your last crowd experience without harm, that's a good start. You can work with that positive memory to start to train your mind to react differently next time you're seemingly trapped in a crowd. Focus on your breathing - take long, deep breaths in and out.

Stay as calm as possible (this gets easier over time - make sure you've got help at hand the first few times you try it).

Gradually, you'll start to reprogram your mind.

If you can, think back to a time when you were happy in a crowd. Maybe a childhood birthday party or maybe a time when you managed to get to the cinema and watch a great movie. If you can find this kind of time, re-live it. In your mind's eye make the memory bigger, brighter, louder. This will help you to associate positive memories with crowds and will help you overcome your fear of crowds faster.

Quick Motivation Tips to Get You Through the Day

We all have those days where we look at our to-do list and cringe because the tasks seem insurmountable. But if we could turn to quick motivations, we might be able to turn the thought process around and get more done.

You can set yourself up for success by having quick motivators, literally within a few inches from where you are sitting. There are also techniques that can help you overcome overwhelming feelings so you will always have the motivation you need to get through any difficult situation.

Using Quick Motivation Tips to Move You Forward

One of the best ways to find motivation in times of stress is to break down the tasks into manageable chunks. Once you do this, suddenly the list won't seem as insurmountable as you once thought. Look at your task list, determine what needs to get done first, and build momentum from there. You'll find motivation by simply getting things done. You can do it all with a smile on your face and a bounce in your step! This is the way that most of us would like to live our lives, but without quick motivations, it can be difficult to do.

Using Positive Affirmations to Find the Motivation You Need

Many people find quick motivation in positive affirmations. Positive affirmations help you feel confident in your own skin so you can accomplish more and grow as an individual. Instead of allowing a negative internal dialogue to keep you from getting things done, you can use positive affirmations to help you stay focused every step of the way.

This will work even on days when you feel like nothing is going well and you can't possibly get everything done.

You can start saying your affirmations when you start to feel negative about something you have to do, or if you sense negativity creeping into your work. You'll be surprised at how quickly your whole mindset will change, if you are open to it.

Motivational Desktop Wallpapers, Yet Another Fast Motivator!

Another helpful tool is something most people would never consider: motivational desktop wallpapers. Motivational wallpapers can help you escape from the pressures that swirl around you so you can refresh your mind. The power of positive imagery can truly alter the course of your day!

Think about how many times a day you see your computer desktop. Are you getting enough motivation? Motivational wallpapers are one of the quickest ways to motivate yourself to push ahead.

With motivational wallpapers you always can have a motivational picture, quote, or both fingertips during the day. During those moments when you feel like pulling your hair out in frustration, you can minimize everything else on your screen and lose yourself in that picture or quote. You'd be surprised to find how motivational this method really can be! If you are looking for additional motivation, you can take some of your wallpaper images and quotes and turn them into screen savers. Your computer can be transformed from your enemy into your motivator. It's your choice!

Mind Power: Gratitude To Manifest More!

One of the more interesting aspects of the Law of Attraction is found in it's teachings. Fundamentally, it teaches people how to think. Not what to think. Learning how to think, helps focus the mind. Many people discover that focusing the mind, helps improve their life.

The book and DVD, The Secret, is a good introduction to the Law of Attraction, but that's all it is. It focuses on acquiring material possessions. And there's nothing wrong with that.

It's not wrong to be well fed, well clothed, drive a nice car and live in a nice home. If you create a feeling of self that's capable and worthy, you'll attract what you want. You can take care of yourself as well as others.

The Law of Attraction stresses on gratitude, to appreciate the things you already have in your life. To focus on the positive thoughts and discard the negativity in life.

There are many people that see the Law of Attraction as a deeply religious experience. Connecting them to others and to a higher power.

The numbers are just as large that consider the Law of Attraction spiritual but not religious. Religious or just spiritual, the results are the same: To change our way of life for the better through the change of our thinking.

Even if you consider the Law of Attraction as neither religious nor spiritual, the benefits are the same. You're still using thought energy to get the things you want most out of life.

If you have had a faulty memory occasionally or even often, you're not alone. Many people do. Perhaps you have driven home from the store, only to remember something that you should've gotten but didn't. Or perhaps you've forgotten important dates, such as anniversaries or birthdays.

It's at that point that you realise another year has gone by and you have totally fogotten your anniversary again. If you have had this experience before then it's time for you to look at making an improvement to your memory. By following a few easy training techniques it will be easy for you to make a dramatic improvement to your memory and never have to worry again about forgetting things.

There are several different categories for your memory. These include remembering dates and events, names and faces, factual information and lists. In each of these areas there are different techniques and tools that you can use for your memory improvement.

If you are a person that always is forgetting names, there are a variety of things you can do to help yourself remember. Many people use a common trick by associating some type of rhyme with the person's name. When you are first introduced to someone new, it is a great idea to make sure that you immediately repeat their name a couple times while you are speaking to that person. This helps you get it into your short term memory before you forget it altogether.

Of course you'll probably want to make sure you get it into your long term memory as well, which is where the rhyme comes in. If the person's name is Nate, think about Nate the great, and each time you see that person, make sure that you repeat the little rhyme again to yourself. The more you do this, the more you'll be able to lock it right into your long term memory so you won't forget it. So, this is one great way to help you out with memory improvement.

You can also use the rhyme you choose to associate that person's name (or the rhyme itself) with that person's appearance. For example, if Tony has a long mane of hair, this means that he can be associated with a "pony" in that way. This will help you recognize the person you meet in the future so that you know his or her name on the spot.

Another common technique for the improvement of your memory when it comes to lists is to make a word a saying/sentence or just remember the first letters of the list. By doing this it will help to jog your memory to exactly what was on the list. For example if you had to go to the shop and remember 5 items you could do it like follows.

Lollipops Bread Chocolate Apples Ketchup

Have a look at your list and in this case we can re-arrange it to be.

B read
L ollies
A pples
C hocolate
K etchup

Now you can see that the first letters in the list spell the word, "Black." All you have to remember when you go shopping is the word "Black," and you'll be able to easily remember the things that are on your list, since they start with the letters of this word.

This is a relatively easy way to improve your memory, and that and the other techniques we've discussed will help give you a good memory in almost no time. All it takes is a little practice.

Self Improvement - Is It Necessary?

What does the word 'Self Improvement' mean to you? Does it mean you are not good enough and you need to work on? Or does it mean you have a lot more potentials in you that are yet to be unlocked?

Either way you are thinking, it is good for you. So when do people seek to improve themselves?

People seek to improve themselves when they see the need for it. Let's say a person knows that he is weak in the area of communication and wonder how he can improve and talk like a winner. What he can do is to pay a visit to a bookstore and look for books that teach effective communication.

This is very common.

Likewise, when you know you want to be rich and successful in things that you do but you just do not have a clue of how to make it happen, then you, too can pay a visit to a bookstore and look for the books or even audios that will help you in the area you are weak at.

Often, people who seek to improve themselves are the ones that attract most of the good things in life. They realize they have flaws and need a lot more help to work on themselves.

Some people do not even see the need to improve themselves and say things like, "I'm born like that", "The day you met me, I have been like that", "I am wired like that and nothing can change me", or worse still, "If you don't like the way I am, too bad!".

Have you seen people like that? Have you heard people say that? Are you like that?

Not only that, some people see the need of changes but they find it really difficult to change. This is simply because they are too comfortable with where they already are.

Employees who have been working in the company for more than 10 years will often have difficulty to change when the company's management is going through some changes also. Likewise, when a wife hopes that her husband to change, they just don't change!

You need to understand this. Change is not a negative word. It may stretch you and make you feel very umcomfortable when it comes to a change, however, the transition will only last for a very short period of time. Without knowing it, you have already gotten used of new way of doing things.

There is a saying that goes like this - The only thing never changes is change.

Change is made for a better tomorrow. Change is made to be more effective in doing things and to improve the ways we do things.

When a person wonders why he is not getting near to where he wants to go, it is not that he needs to work a lot harder. It is the matter of changing the ways of doing things or he will continue to get the same kind of results.

So friends, change and you will unlock your self improvement power!
